Custom sweater

Recently, a friend asked me to knit a couple of sweaters for her 2 neices, one in purple and 1 in pink. She wanted each of them to be quite thick, almost like a fall/spring jacket. I decided to knit them with Vanna's Choice yarn using 2 strands of yarn together to make them more bulky. I just finished the first one in purple and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I always worry when making something new without a pattern, especially a sweater. I think the size is correct, as it's a bit big for my model who is four (but wears size 5) and this is for a 6 year old.

I also found out that Michael's is having a Vanna's Choice Yarn contest, so I entered this sweater along with a hat. The first prize in each category is $1000USD, and you can enter as many times as you like.

Such a beautiful sweater! I think that even if it is a bit on the big side, it will be nice if used as a jacket / coat! Your model is a sweetie~

That looks beautiful! Sweaters are the one thing that make me think about learning to knit. Maybe once both kids are in school full time....For now, I have knitting looms and my crochet.
